Joyce is an architect and urban designer whose sustainable community designs have been recognized as some of the most forward-thinking developments in the country. She was a lead member of the design teams for Vancouver’s flagship green neighbourhoods, helping to forge Vancouver’s reputation as an exceptional model for city-building. Joyce is especially interested in the potential of built form to shape meaningful places expressing the historic, social and cultural aspects of a community, and has a deep commitment to sustainable design, especially related to livability and urban health. She has gained a reputation for effectively advancing this potential in her work and as a Board member of the Council for Canadian Urbanism.
