Based in our Vancouver office, Derek is an architect with the distinct ability to deliver practical yet innovative and elegant design solutions. His diverse experience includes a strong background in urban design, master planning, and green building, fostering a holistic approach to every project. As project architect, Derek led the design of Orchard Commons, an academic and student housing mixed-use facility on the University of British Columbia’s Point Grey campus designed to promote diversity and social connection. The characteristic façade of the residential towers was optimized using computational techniques creating a unique identity.
